NUNAVUT - Nunavut residents have an opportunity to root for a homegrown artist at the 2009 Juno Awards again this year.

Tanya Tagaq Gillis, shown here singing at last year's Folk on the Rocks festival in Yellowknife, NWT, was nominated in two Juno categories last week.

Her 2008 album Auk Blood is vying for a Juno in the Aboriginal Album of the Year and Instrumental Album of the Year categories.

The Juno Awards will air live on CTV on March 29.

The internationally- renowned throat singer from Cambridge Bay is touring internationally later this month.
