NUNAVUT - The Isaksimagit Inuusirmi Katujjiqatigiit Embrace Life Council has elected a new president.

After a vote at IIK's recent annual general meeting, it was announced that Jesse Mike, a youth policy analyst with Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. would replace former president Sheila Levy.

"I am excited to serve as the new president," he said. "I've been involved with different activities with the Embrace Life Council, but accepting this position is an honour."

At the AGM, Levy was re-elected to the board as treasurer. Also elected was Marty Cheliak as vice-president and Jack Hicks as secretary.

Directors for the council include Becky Kilabuk, James Barlow, Sandy Oleekatalik, Maryanne Tattuinnie, Mary Etuangat, Percy Kabloona and Jocelyn Malla Ukutaq.
