    Stabbing at Ndilo residence

SOMBA K'E/YELLOWKNIFE - Two people were injured after a stabbing at a Ndilo residence on Saturday.

RCMP responded to the call at about 8 a.m. One victim was given care by emergency services for a cut on his arm and another was taken to the hospital.

The accused, a 28-year-old Fort Good Hope resident, was taken without incident and charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and mischief under $5,000.

    Car set on fire

An abandoned vehicle left near the side of the road near Vee Lake for at least three weeks was set on fire last Friday. Yellowknife RCMP received a call at about 5:30 p.m. "I think the vehicle is pretty much destroyed at this point," said RCMP Const. Roxanne Dreilich.

"There's no ability to track the vehicle to an owner," she added. "There's no plates and the vehicle identification number didn't come back to anybody."

No suspects have been identified so far.

    Cab fare dispute

A court date has been set but charges have yet to be laid for one individual who did not pay his taxi bill, according to police. The accused had reportedly contracted a cab to drive to various locations, including Behchoko and back, for a negotiated hourly rate, said Dreilich.

At the end of the contract, however, the individual didn't put forth any money.

"The cab company has extended time for the person to pay the bill," said Dreilich. She added that the company can't extend credit to the individual - in which case the matter would become a civil situation.
