Inuvik - If you want your kids to learn more about the bible and have fun at the same time, this Sunday's registration could be for you.

The Vacation Bible School at the Anglican Church starts this Sunday night, and runs for five nights until Thursday, July 24.

Pastor David Parsons said activities are tailored for young children interested in learning about God.

Parsons said the annual program is being facilitated by a travelling group of educators who share their knowledge of the good book all across the continent.

"They've been to lots of different places," he said.

There are five people in the team, who will start their presentations on Sunday night from 6-9 p.m.

Two of the instructors are from Yellowknife, the other three are from the United States.

Parsons said the group is open to children aged four to 12 and he encourages parents to come out as well.

"We would love for parents to come out to watch over the younger ones who might need it," he said.

Activities are varied, said Parsons. The group will be working on arts and crafts, playing games and making music.

"It'll be a full program," he said.

Parsons said last year, facilitators had events both during the day and at night to accommodate participants. This year the bible school takes place in the evening.

Parsons said parents interested in the program can call the church for information.

The school, he said, is a good way for children to become closer to God.

"It's a great way to introduce the Christian message," he said.

Parsons encourages parents to attend the final evening on Thursday, when the finale takes place.

"It's usually a time when all the parents come and take part in the program," he said.

"Come on by, everyone is welcome."
