YELLOWKNIFE - A camping trailer was rammed by a white car on May 29 in the early morning hours.

The camper was parked on the street outside a home on Borden Drive. A passing motorist reported the hit and run to the RCMP.

The white car was abandoned by the driver and, according to RCMP Const. Roxanne Dreilich, had been reported as stolen.

Due to the fact the car was stolen, Dreilich said, "it could be really tough to find who might have done it."

The incident is still under investigation.

Assault outside the Raven

A 36-year-old male reported being assaulted outside the Raven nightclub on Friday, May 30 around 10 p.m.

The man said he was punched in the face by a 29-year-old male who has yet to be located.

"His identity is known so the investigation continues into looking to apprehend him and press the charges," Dreilich said.

It was not clear if alcohol was a factor, she added.

Delayed report of beating

A 52-year-old woman reported being assaulted to the RCMP on May 28 for an incident which occurred five days prior.

The woman had received medical treatment for facial injuries after the assault.

"She did know who he was and provide the name," said Dreilich, adding the relationship between the two individuals was not clear.

A 43-year-old male was arrested at Dorset Apartments. The man has been released under conditions not to have contact with the woman.
