SOMBA K'E/YELLOWKNIFE - A woman faces charges of second degree murder following the Friday morning death of her 52-year-old sister, who RCMP found in a cabin roughly 20 kilometers outside of Yellowknife along Highway 3 near Behchoko.
Police arrested 58-year-old Doris Kendi, the owner of the cabin, on scene around 2:30 a.m., Friday morning after finding Lorraine Bella Bonnetplume of Yellowknife dead.
RCMP took Kendi into custody without incident. She is scheduled to appear in court July 2.
Bonnetplume's husband called police for help reporting his wife was injured. RCMP and emergency medical responders found Bonnetplume dead when they arrived.
