INUVIK - The Road's End Golf Club has only one complete hole and a driving range, but that isn't holding up the popularity of the venue.

Mike Sharpe, who has been in town for four years working with a contractor, has 15 years of experience playing golf.

Sharpe said the driving range is coming along nicely.

Sharpe said he used the range last year and was sure to be out all summer this season.

Sharpe was about to play the only hole in the club, which is a par 3.

"I haven't been up there yet, but we plan on it this afternoon," he said.

Sharpe wants to see the club develop further.

"There are a lot of people into the game. It's a great sport and a good way to have fun," he said.

Andre Turpin was with Sharpe.

He said it would be good if the course added a few more holes this year.

"I heard they were talking about putting some grass down soon," he said.

Turpin had a few recommendations for the course developers.

"I see a big water hole there to the right of the driving range," he said.

"It would be fun to try and get a ball across that, to a green."

He added that the course is coming along well.

"It shows a lot of promise here," he said.

"It sounds like it's only going to get busier and busier."
