YELLOWKNIFE - Convicted pedophile Charles McGee will have another day in court this fall.

A hearing has been set for Oct. 12 on the conditions to be applied to McGee's release. These include restrictions keeping McGee away from children under the age of 14, and away from areas - such as playgrounds and public swimming pools - where children are usually present.

The date was confirmed in territorial court Thursday by Chief Justice Brian Bruser.

McGee was sentenced to nine months in prison in October, 2006 for sexually abusing an eight-year-old girl in the early 1980s. He was released earlier this year. He previously spent a year under house arrest, after being convicted in 2004 of two counts of indecent assault.
