INUVIK - The upcoming closure of ice roads - both to Tuktoyaktuk itself and local rigs and drilling sites - will mean some dampening of the hamlet's economic activity, said Tuktoyaktuk Economic Development Officer Paul Hussey.
"From an economic development point of view, it's winding down for the oil and gas industry," he said.
As of press time, the local ice roads were still being used despite warnings from Transport Canada banning low-clearance vehicles.
