TUKTOYAKTUK - A Tuktoyaktuk man is facing criminal charges in connection with a break-and-enter and a robbery.
Timothy Robert Cockney, 36, also faces charges of uttering threats and carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The robbery occurred March 8, at the Nauchiaq fur shop on Igluyakyuk lane.
In that case, Cockney was charged under section 348 of the Criminal Code, which states a person "used violence or threats of violence" during a home invasion.
While the proprietor of the fur shop declined to speak with News/North, court records indicate the weapon used was a knife.
Cockney is also charged in connection with a Feb. 18 home invasion.
In that case, he was charged under section 349 of the Criminal Code, which covers "every person who, without lawful excuse,... enters or is in a dwelling-house with intent to commit an indictable offence."
On May 2, Cockney pleaded not guilty to both the violent home invasion and illegal entry charges.
He is now scheduled to appear in Tuktoyaktuk's territorial court June 13.
