YELLOWKNIFE - A man who worked as a teacher and principal in the Deh Cho has pleaded guilty to sexual assault.
Marvin Noel Lizotte pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual assault on April 23 in Supreme Court in Yellowknife.
The incidents occurred while Lizotte was working as a teacher at Deh Gah school, in Fort Providence, between 1998 and 2004.
The three girls were all between 14 to 15 years of age when the assaults occurred.
The case has been adjourned to Fort Providence for sentencing when the Supreme Court visits between June 14 to 15.
Lizotte has re-elected for sentencing by judge alone.
Lizotte was working as both the principal and only teacher at Kakisa Lake school when the charges were laid.
Lizotte was in Fort Smith for the cross-country skiing territorial trails when he was arrested on Jan. 13, 2006.
The arrest occurred after a complaint was filed with the Fort Providence RCMP on Jan. 12, 2006.
