INUVIK - If you have any questions about the work being done in the region by ConocoPhillips, Chantale Simons is the new person to talk to.

Simons was in town last week with Brian Plesuk, who is the stakeholder relations advisor for ConocoPhillips Canada.

Plesuk said he was proud to introduce Simons to people in the region and hopes for an open line of communication between the North and the company.

"Chantale is our new face in the North," said Plesuk.

"If anyone has any questions about our projects, they can go through her."

Although she won't have an office in Inuvik, she is the contact person within the company's Calgary offices for concerns from the Mackenzie Delta region.

Simons plans on visiting the region periodically throughout the year.

Simons said most of her job is meeting with people in the communities to find out their needs and regulations for work in the region.

"We want to get as much feedback as possible about the areas we work in," said Simons.

Simons said that she is always available to answer questions about their work or just about the company in general.

"If you see me on the streets of Inuvik, just stop me and ask away," she said.

"My job is to make sure people understand what is going on with ConocoPhillips," said Simons.

Holding meetings and community question and answer sessions is something that Simons wants to do as well, she said.

"I want to meet with as many people as possible," she said.

"If anyone has any questions about getting involved in development with the company, they would talk with me."

ConocoPhillips is involved in the Mackenzie Gas Project in the Parsons Lake field.
