YELLOWKNIFE - A man found bleeding from the mouth and ears on a sidewalk outside the Red Apple Restaurant downtown is still unconscious in an Edmonton hospital, said RCMP Const. Roxanne Dreilich.

He appeared to have been assaulted, according to RCMP, but there are no suspects as of yet.

The man is 35-years-old, according to witnesses who had met him earlier that night. His father is requesting his name be kept private, said Dreilich.

RCMP have a description of a man that was involved in an altercation with the victim earlier in the night at the White Fox bar, she said.

However it is unknown if he was involved with the events that led to the man lying unconscious on the sidewalk.
