Yellowknife (Jan 17/07) - Police have located a 13-year-old girl who went missing last week-end.

Louise Yukon, a Norman Wells resident who was in Yellowknife with her family for some appointments, was last seen with a family acquaintance Anthony Mantla, originally of Behchoko, at the Centre Square Mall by her mother last Sunday.

When Yukon failed to show up Monday morning, her mother phoned the police to report her as missing. The RCMP then started a search, which included handing out photos of Yukon and Mantla to see if anyone had spotted the pair, according to Sgt. Andy Ing of the RCMP.

Const. Maria Williams said that the police connected the two as he was an adult male, and the two were last seen together.

After media reports of being missing, Yukon called her sister to let her know that she was alright and was just "out with friends", according to Const. Resus Morgan. Her sister then called the RCMP to let them know that she had located her sister.

There are no charges being laid against Mantla.
