Wrigley (Jan 15/07) - Female students at Chief Julian Yendo school in Wrigley have a better grasp of women's traditional activities following a three day girls' culture camp.

While the male students were having their own camp at Jones' Landing, the 11 female students learned about cooking, sewing, knitting and beading from Dec. 6-8.

Led by elders Cecelia Yendo, Mary Neyelle and Rosie Horesay, the girls rotated through the activity stations.

While the students worked on knitting projects, they listened to stories told by Rosie Horesay.

Tasty meals were provided by Mary Clille who did all the cooking during the camp.

Slavey was spoken as much as possible during the camp, said teacher Pamela Waygood.
