Norman Wells (Dec 11/06) - Northern rapper Aaron "Godson" Hernandez flew to Norman Wells to help cap Addictions Week activities at Mackenzie Mountain school there recently.

The Yellowknife artist spoke to students about the effects of smoking, drinking and drug abuse and shared some his own experiences watching those around him battle addictions. The presentation included a performance with a message to the students to stay away from drugs.

"The students were even given an opportunity to write and perform a rap song," said Wanda Quigg, program support teacher. "The entire presentation was thoroughly enjoyable and we even discovered some future rappers in the crowd."
