Sachs Harbour (Aug 14/06) - This year's Whitefox Jamboree will have something for everyone.

Organizer Raymond Kadlak said the annual jamboree will include activities as diverse as a foot race, a pancake breakfast, a rifle shoot, traditional foods and a competition of games such as harpoon throwing and goose plucking.

As well, there will be a talent show and a jigging contest.

"We're also getting fiddlers from Tuktoyaktuk," Kadlak added, as though it were not enough.

In addition to all this, Kadlak said there will be a "King and Queen of the Whitefox Jamboree" crowned, based on who donates the most money to offset the festival's costs.

Whereas the jamboree was held in the fall last year, Kadlak said this year's summer jamboree is kind of an experiment.

He said organizers are seeing if more people will show up."We'll see what happens," he said.

With all those activities, Kadlak said there should certainly be something for everyone in the community.
