Police Briefs: Rockhill break and enter

Yellowknife (Jul 07/06) - Police arrested an intoxicated youth attempting to break into a Rockhill apartment Saturday.

The attempt was made at 7:30 a.m. The youth was released after promising to show up at his court date.

Intoxicated man lay bleeding

Police received a report of an intoxicated man lying down and bleeding in front of the Royal Canadian Legion.

The police believe the man was assaulted around 1 a.m. on June 28.

There are no suspects at this time.

Assault in front of hotel

A 47-year-old man was charged with assault after punching a 30-year-old woman in the face.

The incident happened around noon on June 27 in front of the Northern Lights Motel.

Passed out in running car

A 53-year-old man was charged with impaired control of his vehicle after police found him passed out while the vehicle was still running.

Police also found an open beer in the cup holder.

The arrest happened Saturday morning around 3:20 a.m.

Uttering threats against pet

Police answered a call June 27 from a woman whose border threatened her dog. Police advised the woman to speak to her tenant about the incident and to immediately report any signs of abuse to her dog.

Car taken without consent

A 27-year-old man was charged with taking a vehicle without consent by police after his 23-year-old girlfriend told police he had taken the car. The incident happened June 28 at 7 a.m.

The woman applied for an emergency protection order, a type of restraining order, against the man.
