Yellowknife (Jun 09/06) - Police say drugs found during their investigation of a June 4 shooting were found outside a Frame Lake-area residence.

On Tuesday, RCMP reported recovery of a "substantial amount" of cocaine and marijuana during the search of two residences. Police clarified the information Thursday and now say the drugs were found outside one of the residences.

Const. Colleen Werrell said police only found trace amounts of drugs inside the residences. Police obtained warrants to search the residences as part of their investigation into the shooting of a 24-year-old man.

He was shot in the leg and eventually flown to Edmonton for treatment, but has now been released from hospital.

The gun was found on Monday at an undisclosed location.

Christopher Gary Harris, 23, of Yellowknife, was charged with aggravated assault and careless use of a firearm.

Harris was later released after appearing before a justice of the peace Monday evening.

He was ordered to return to court on June 20.

No other suspects have been identified by police at this time and Werrell said there's been no decision on whether any charges will be laid in connection with the drugs.
