Yellowknife (Jun 14/06) - A single car accident on Highway 3 near Fred Henne Territorial Park late Friday afternoon may be attributed to alcohol, according to Yellowknife RCMP.
Const. Wanita Minty said she received a report of a blue Dodge van driving erratically around the city with a possible intoxicated driver at the wheel.

After searching in vain for the van, Minty said she returned to the detachment where she received a call that a vehicle matching the description had gone off Hwy 3 and into the ditch.
"We believe it's alcohol related," said Minty at the scene.
"Witnesses in the back seat thought they were going to roll and the tires on the right side are completely shredded."
Two passengers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries while the 31-year-old male driver was taken into custody.
Police and emergency vehicles at the scene contributed to traffic being slowed up on either side of the highway.
However, with the help of Yellowknife police, there were not any significant delays, said Minty.
Tuesday, RCMP confirmed that the driver would be charged with impaired driving and is to appear in court
