Yellowknife (May 31/06) - After investing more than $400,000 into state-of-the-art painting technology, Hak's Autobody is ready to give your ride whatever look you're after.

The new system - which makes use of a computer network, an air circulation system and the company's advanced technical skills - has everything it needs to provide customers with top of the line service according to owner Hak Mujcin.

Two paint booths in the shop were upgraded with two cutting-edge Global spray booths called the Ultra Plus and Ultra Plus One - the first of its kind installed in Canada, said Mujcin.

"In every business, there can be a bottleneck," he said. "We've opened up the funnel to speed up the process, so there's no more bottleneck." With the two new spray booths, a new paint mixing room and a new computerized wheel alignment machine, work can be done twice as fast as previously, he said.

"We're able to provide a lot more to the customers now," he said.

Providing quality service to customers is something Mujcin and his family have been doing for some time.

After moving to Yellowknife in 1973, he opened Hak's Autobody in 1978. Since then has been constantly upgrading technology in the shop ever since. As important as the customers are, the staff also means a lot, said Mujcin.

The team of five includes Mujcin's wife Heidi and his son, Mirsad.

Another son, Senav is working on his apprenticeship course in Alberta.

"I make sure the boys do the work," said Heidi Mujcin's who co-ordinates and schedules the activity around the shop.

"With the renovations, we're able to work on 100 to 150 automobiles a week," she said.
