Iqaluit (May 15/06) - Armed forces will descend on Iqaluit on May 16 and 17.
The Arctic Security Interdepartmental Working Group is coming to town, and its members have their eyes on the land.
The group meets twice a year, and is made up of various security agencies. They get together to share information about how to make the Arctic more secure.
Keep your eyes out for anonymous looking men in black suits - the security forces will be there. The Intelligence Focus Group was formed in 2005, and they will be meeting to discuss classified matters.
"The Team North approach to addressing the security concerns of the Arctic is imperative because no single department - federal or territorial - has the ability to handle certain security situations independently. Collectively, we have a better chance of achieving success," said Col. Norm Cloutier, the commander of Task Force North.
