Yellowknife (Jan 27/06) - Caribou Carnival organizers hired their carnival coordinator this week.

Out of three candidates, board president Cpt. Don Finnamore said John Dalton from YK Management was the best fit for the carnival's needs.

"He had the most qualifications," said Finnamore.

"He was the owner of YK Cabs and Buses. He has a lot of management and financial background."

The carnival co-ordinator has many responsibilities including managing events planning and co-ordinating the work of volunteers.

Dalton will also be working directly with the site co-ordinator.

A site co-ordinator has not been hired yet because the carnival coordinator should be involved in the process, said Finnamore.

Dalton has lived in Yellowknife for 34 years and has many contacts in the city, said the board president.
