Yellowknife (Jan 25/06) - One of the city's favourite eating places, Quiznos, on Old Airport Road, is up for sale.

Owner Edna Brant said that inquiries have been received for the restaurant which they value at $369,000.

"For every business, you have to look at the volume that they do, what it costs to start up the business, leasehold improvements, equipment, training and so on, to know how much it's going to be sold for," she said.

Current performance of the business "is very good," Brant also stated.

The business includes take out and delivery services.

"We opened in September 2003. We have done quite well. We are selling a healthy business."

Brant also said most members of the staff of 13 are likely to stay after the change of ownership.

"They don't have to stay. It's a free world; you can do whatever you want, but I think the majority of my staff will be staying. Most of them have been with me for two and a half years."

"Eighty per cent of my staff are still with me since we opened."

The owners have lived in Yellowknife during the last 32 years.

They were not always in the restaurant business.

"I used to be flight attendant supervisor for Western Canada with First Air," said Brant.

Brant and her husband have decided to sell the business to move South.
