Yellowknife (Dec 14/05) - Just like the cat, the Grinch came back.

The Christmas character was welcomed by Beth McCormack and her children, who reported the six-foot inflatable Grinch stolen from their Sissons Court home last week.

"I couldn't believe it," McCormack said.

"There was a knock on the door Sunday evening and there was a young man there with two friends. He said he had found it."

While the story now has a happy ending for McCormack and her family, it made her just as happy to hear of the kindness of Lisa Reyes, owner of Bouyah Restaurant.

The Reyes were prepared to give their own inflatable Grinch, which they had recently purchased in Winnipeg.

"We have a four-year-old son and we were trying to teach him that Christmas isn't just about receiving, it is about giving.

"He was more that willing to give that to make other kids happy," Reyes said.

Jo-Anne Sigurdson, who put up a $100 reward for the return of the Grinch, was pleased. "I think it's great for the kids," she said.

Niki Betsina, the mother of the young man who returned the Grinch, said the Grinch was in good condition.

"We just found it under a bridge by Winks," she said.
