Yellowknife (Nov 18/05) - Guitarist, songwriter and former stand-up comic Rick Poltaruk and his friends will spread Christmas cheer this month with Doo Wapin to Christmas.

The ensemble show is a dinner theatre musical review running next week at Hot Shots Pub. The band will lead audiences through an evening of doo wop harmonies spiced with parody, comedy and Christmas carols "like you've never heard before."

Joining Poltaruk will be Ronna Kingsley, Kelley Merilees-Kappel, Connie Hinchey, Jo Russell, Gary Tees, Howard McKay, Mike Hilchey and Jon Powell.

Songs are spread between all the singers, with plenty of shared moments in between, Poltaruk said.

The band will play traditional Christmas music with non-traditional arrangements, some original material and a few a cappella numbers. Audience participation is encouraged.

Doo Wapin to Christmas runs nightly at Hot Shots Pub from Nov. 22-26.
