Yellowknife (Nov 11/05) - Unveiling the walls protecting the wounded spirits many women possess is the theme of this year's Fragrance of God women's conference this Friday and Saturday.
Sandi Houweling of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship church is welcoming all women to the second annual conference.
"It's a beautiful, safe place for women to come," Houweling said.
"We want to celebrate being a woman."
"There are so many negative things in the world, its good to put beauty in it all," she said.
The two-day conference will be held above the Red Apple restaurant, beginning with registration at 6 p.m. Friday.
A worship service and speaker Jean Harsch of Edmonton follow.
Saturday begins with coffee and muffins at 8:45 a.m., a worship service at 9 a.m. and speaker Jean Harsch.
Houweling said there will be three afternoon workshops: Dropping the Mask, If You Only Knew (Discovering your inner beauty) and Beyond the Veil.
The evening will end with a restaurant dinner, worship and speaker Jean Harsch.
To register, call Sandi Houweling at 873-4266. Cost of the conference is $55.
The conference complements a quarterly meeting of the Northern Lites group, where women gather for discourse and "lighthearted times," Houweling said.
