Yellowknife (Oct 07/05) - Artist Diane Boudreau installed a second summer's worth of art from her Urban Art Studio project this week. The new art lines the south wall of Centre Square Mall (fronting the parking lot along 50th Street).

The colourful acrylic-on-wood paintings depict a variety of Northern themes, including ravens, owls, eagles, float planes, berry baskets and diamonds.

Boudreau also painted seven funk-a-delic instruments as a tribute to Folk on the Rocks.

Aaron Mandeville, Beverly Ann Villeneuve, Diane Michelle, Thum Foliot and Tony Foliot are a few of the other artists featured in the display. Sponsors include Lone Woolf Film and Television Production and Service, Aggie Brockman and Diavik. The Co-op donated food and Home Hardware and Canadian Tire donated mis-tint paint to the project.

A few paintings still need a sponsor. The studio will return for a third season next spring, Boudreau said.
