Weapons used in three assaults

Yellowknife (Oct 05/05) - The Yellowknife RCMP Detachment is changing in reporting procedures for all reported occurrences.

For the time being the statistical information is based only on what has been entered on both the old system and the new Police Reporting and Occurrence System.

The Yellowknife Detachment responded to 141 calls for service between Sept. 20 and Oct. 3.

Forty-two complaints of public intoxication were reported during the two-week period.

Three assaults with a weapon causing bodily harm were investigated, as was one sexual assault.

There were another 13 common assaults.

Eight break and enters were reported, five to businesses and three to residences.

There were two thefts of vehicles. There were five complaints of impaired driving.
