Trailer damaged in blaze

Fort Providence (Oct 03/05) - A night-time fire damaged a trailer in Fort Providence this weekend, leaving the home with extensive damage to the roof.

No one was in the trailer during the blaze, which officials believe started in the chimney, said RCMP Cpl. Rob Harkin.

"We do not feel there was any foul play involved," he said. Police and fire crews responded to the blaze at around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

It took firefighters about an hour to bring it under control.

"The fire department did a great job," Harkin said.

There was extensive damage to the roof of the trailer as some sections had to be pried away to douse the blaze.
