Yellowknife (Sep 07/05) - The 25-year-old woman who was confined to her home and attacked over a two-day period in Rae between Aug. 21-23 is out of hospital.

According to Rae RCMP, the victim discharged herself from Stanton Territorial Hospital, Monday, against medical advice.

The woman's sister had little to say about her sister's condition when contacted.

"I can't give out any information again. You're asking the wrong person. I think she's getting better now," the sister said.

A friend of the victim also had little to say about her condition. "She's doing OK."

The victim was originally sent to Edmonton hospital with multiple injuries, but was later transferred back to Yellowknife.

Gary Football has been charged with aggravated sexual assault, aggravated assault and unlawful confinement in connection with the incident.

He was arrested after the woman escaped the residence and was brought to the Rae health centre.

Football has been remanded into custody and next appears in court Sept. 13.
