April Wine well aged

Northern News Services

Inuvik (Sep 30/05) - It was earplugs for the faint-at-heart at the Mad Trapper Pub, Monday and Tuesday evenings, as international recording artists April Wine rocked the house.

Mixing their time-tested ballads with hardrocking standards, April Wine had the capacity crowd tapping their toes and even getting on their feet for a slow dance or two.

And those waiting for Jerry Mercer's signature drum solos were not disappointed, as the Wine's traps-man delivered on several occasions.

April Wine has been going strong since reforming in 1992 following an eight-year hiatus and the band members who performed here in Inuvik were pretty much the nucleus of the group that rose to prominence in the mid-70s.
