Yellowknife (Sep 28/05) - A police patrol down 50th Avenue last week resulted in an arrest and a seizure of crack cocaine.

Yellowknife RCMP were driving down 50th St. at around 4:30 p.m. Sept. 20 when they spotted a woman suspected of having an outstanding warrant, said RCMP Sgt. Darcy Fleury.

"They confirmed that and then arrested her on that warrant," Fleury said. The arrest took place across the street from the Yellowknifer office.

Police could be seen at their vehicle counting the money and securing the drugs associated with the arrest.

Fleury said a small amount of crack cocaine consisting of seven "rocks" valued at about $250 was seized, along with $315 in cash.

The woman is being charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
