Yellowknife (Sep 14/05) - Musicians will perform as women march in the streets tonight for Take Back the Night.

Moira Cameron and Dawn Lacey met at the first Take back the night march 14 years ago and have been close friends ever since.

"Take Back the Night is about standing up against violence," Moira said.

That includes a concern for the safety of women, young people, children, taxi drivers and anyone who feels afraid or at risk of violence in Yellowknife.

The women met this weekend to prepare songs of solidarity and strength to perform at tonight's event. They rehearsed the songs as they walked on 49th Street on Saturday.
