Iqaluit RCMP have busy August

Iqaluit (Aug 29/05) - The Iqaluit RCMP have been kept busy for the month of August.

Thieves raided the sealift supplies kept in the compound outside the Coast Guard offices, Aug. 23. Cases of pop and beer were stolen from a crate.

Either late Aug. 21, or early on Aug. 22, someone damaged the rear windows of a red Econoline van parked in the 2400 block of Iqaluit.

Vandalism hit just outside DJ Sensations early on Aug. 6.

At 8:20 a.m. RCMP were called after a parked vehicle was broken into. Several four-wheel scooters were also stolen that day.

Baffin Building Supplies on the Federal Road was broken into twice this month. Some tools - including a Dremel tool - were stolen.

The public health unit at building 155 had six windows broken on Aug. 7.

At 11 a.m. on Aug. 3, a cordless phone, an ivory carving and some merchandise were taken from the building supply store.

RCMP have requested the public's help in all of these cases and remind people that they can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS if they have any information to share.
