Attempted murder case delayed

Iqaluit (Aug 15/05) - Two men charged with attempted murder will stay in custody, awaiting trail.

The show cause hearing for Jason Kilabuk, 21, and Douglas Katsak, 18, which had been scheduled for Aug. 11, was pushed back to Aug. 25.

It was a brief visit to the courtroom, with the two making a quick stop in front of the justice of the peace before returning jail.

Both men were charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault after a man was found stabbed outside the Nunavut Court of Justice in Iqaluit around 1 a.m. on Aug. 1. Their first hearing was on Aug. 4.
