NTI wants seats filled Northern News Services
NTI president Paul Kaludjak called on minister of Indian and Northern Affairs Andy Scott to appoint a chairperson to the board, which has been without a leader for eight months. It's not the only vacant seat. A second board position - that is also filled by the federal government - has been vacant since January 2003. The eight-member board is also facing the expiration of two other seats, one in December and another in February 2006. "If it takes this long to re-appoint the remaining two board members, the organization will not have enough members for a quorum," said Kaludjak.
