Drug charges laid, graders shot up

Hay River (July 25/05) - Two Hay River residents have been charged with possession of crack cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.

The charges were laid against Lisa Marie Walker, 23, and Harry Joe Sabourin, 25, following a police search of a residence on July 21.

Police seized 3.5 grams of crack with a street value of $700, and $10,000 in cash.

Both accused are to appear in territorial court on Aug. 15.

Two 16-year-old males from Edmonton have also been charged with the same offences.

Two graders have been damaged on Highway 5,100 km west of Fort Smith by a vandal or vandals with an air gun.

Sometime between the evening of Friday, July 15 and the following Monday morning the windows of the vehicles were peppered with numerous holes.

The vehicles were parked at a Department of Transportation grader station.

The RCMP report the damage was about $6,000.

No suspects have been identified.
