Inuvik (Apr 29/05) - With a five-day schedule of meetings and workshops in town last week, recreation co-ordinators from across the territory didn't miss any opportunities to kick back and enjoy some fun in the sun.

Barbecues, casino nights and even a round of snow golf were added to the already-overflowing agendas, just in case the more than 50 activity experts didn't have enough to do.

"Those nights were hugely successful," said Bobby Despres.

The recreation co-ordinator said most of those who attended the 17th annual NWT Recreation and Parks Association meetings made it out for the nightly activities, particularly Saturday's feast, drum dance and hand games.

"The recreation leadership program students from the college put that on. Everybody was really impressed," said Despres.
