The female driver and her passenger, a child, were uninjured.
The incident occurred at a railway crossing on Birch Road, as it intersects the Mackenzie Highway near The Rooster store.
RCMP Cst. Michael Carter said the truck was waiting for traffic to clear on the highway - which runs parallel to the tracks - when it was hit in the rear quarter panel by the northbound train. "In short, (the truck) just didn't pull far enough forward," Carter said, adding that no charges will be laid.
The truck was damaged, but still drivable after the incident.
