Liza served as band councillor and sub-chief on the Lutsel K'e Dene Council on and off for years.
She was very outspoken on many issues.
She believed very strongly in preserving the traditional way of life.
Whether she was at meetings in Lutsel K'e, in other communities in the North or down south, people listened as she shared her wisdom and vision for the preservation of the traditional way of life and the protection of treaty rights.
She was a firm believer in sober leadership for the community. Liza and her husband Billy kept their family intact during the late 1970s when alcohol was a major problem in Lutsel K'e.
Liza will be sadly missed by her husband, their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and the whole community.
