Yellowknife (Feb 23/05) - Yellowknife's Polar Tech has landed in the winner's circle as this year's Bombardier Recreational Products dealer of the year for most of Canada.

Owner Gord Olson and his team of snowmobile professionals were understandably excited about the honour.

"This award is handed out only to two dealers every year," he said.

"This is huge to beat out all the Ontario dealers and all the dealers in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and both territories."

Not just sales

The award is presented based on proficiency of technical staff, parts personnel, sales and for overall training provided to all staff.

Points are also given based on the showroom and displays.

The award is intentionally not given out based on sales volumes as every market is different.

"These dealers sell hundreds and hundreds of snowmobiles," said Olson of southern retailers.

General manager Adrien Saulis said the award was vindication for the hard work the staff at Polar Tech puts in day after day, every day of the year.

"We work hard all year and try to excel, that's what we do for a living," said Saulis
