The plant-eating dinosaur is Yellowknife's newest outdoor painting. It covers the front of John Alexander's dinosaur museum in Old Town. "I didn't want to do the T-Rex thing because it's overdone," said Alexander.

In fact, the museum owner said he asked artist friends Diane Boudreau and Stephen Fancott if they'd paint something small for his door. They ended up creating a 16-by-12 foot behemoth that covers most of the front of the building. "We want to promote landscape art in Yellowknife," said Boudreau.

The dinosaur went up on Oct. 30.
