Cambridge Bay (Nov 15/04) - A youth has been charged with attempted murder after a 26-year-old woman was stabbed inside a Cambridge Bay residence.

At about 5 a.m. on Nov. 7 Cambridge Bay RCMP received a report that a woman had been stabbed.

The officers on duty transported the victim to the health centre in Cambridge Bay where she was treated for multiple stab wounds.

A youth was taken into custody a short time later.

He has been remanded into custody with a court date set for Nov. 15 in Iqaluit.

The victim was later flown to a hospital in Yellowknife for further treatment.

Her wounds were deemed non-life threatening.
