Inuvik (Oct 01/04) - In preparation for NWT Literacy Week, Sept. 26 to Oct. 2, students at SAMS school have been busy for the last month in the reading and writing department.

With winter right around the corner, students from Cathi Ross' Grade 2 class have been thinking about what fall means to them.

While Dustin Arey wrote that jumping in the leaves was one of his favourite fall pastimes, he lamented the coming of winter.

"I like it when it's hot," he said.

Unfortunately, he'll have to wait another eight months for the summer's heat to return.

In Christelle Djorgee's piece about fall, she wrote that leaves dancing in the wind was something she enjoyed about the season.

However, there was one thing that bothered her.

"I don't like it when it rains because there's mud puddles everywhere."
