Yellowknife (July 16/04) - Frustrated Yellowknifers who can't find parking at Stanton Territorial Hospital have a bit of breathing space.

As a partial solution to the problem, the hospital has made about 20 extra spaces available at the left side of the road coming into the hospital.

"People may have to walk from the medical clinic down the road," said Donna Zaozirny, Stanton director of operations.

Parking space is one issue being looked at by a group of consultants working with the hospital to develop a blueprint for a 10-15 year master development plan, Zaozirny said.

"We've got some available land between us and the McDonalds," Zaozirny said of one of the solutions being considered.

The hospital will be soliciting input for its master development plan in the fall.

"We realize there is an issue and we're trying to address it," Zaozirny said.
