Yellowknife (July 14/04) - The Yellowknife RCMP responded to 577 calls for service from June 28 July 11.

Of those, 167 involved intoxicated persons.

During the two-week period, seven residences were broken into.

Police responded to 23 assaults, three of which were assaults with a weapon.

There were also two sexual assaults reported.

Six reports of shoplifting were received, all from the Yellowknife Centre area.

Police were called out ten times concerning impaired driving.

They also dealt with three motor vehicle accidents.
