Yellowknife (May 05/04) - The Yellowknife Association for Community Living held their 12th annual Gumboot Rally on Saturday.

The rally drew teams to compete in a variety of boot-related games, and raised $16,000 for job coaches at the Abe Miller Centre's Summer Cafe.

The cafe employs people with intellectual disabilities as servers. Job coaches help with the work.

The rally got its name 12 years ago when the association set out to stage a ski event, but lost the snow to a spring thaw.
