Rankin Inlet (May 03/04) - RCMP have charged Adrien Vaneindhoven, 30, with second degree murder in connection with the death of 22-year-old Leanne Irkootee of Rankin Inlet.

At 7:30 a.m. April 23, police responded to a call that a woman was in need of medical attention. Irkootee was later pronounced dead at the Rankin Inlet Health Centre.

An investigation into circumstances surrounding Irkootee's death are continuing.

Vaneindhoven will appear in court May 4 in Iqaluit.
