Yellowknife (May 03/04) - The arena, the youth centre and several homes were targeted by thieves who broke through doors to grab food, take clothing and cigarettes, even try on makeup belonging to several homeowners between April 16-18.

Footprints and fingerprints were taken from the youth centre where a jacket and keys were stolen. Most of the suspects in the youth centre break-in are a number of "non-chargeable youths" between the ages of 10 and 11. Just one of the youths is older than 12 and can be charged.

They are also accused of breaking into several homes, eating food, candy and even trying on home owners' clothing and make-up.

"Sitting around, trying on the clothes of the owners, smoking cigarettes inside the residence, and generally having themselves a good time before moving on," said Const. Chris Hutchings.
